In-hand salary for ₹8 LPA CTC

If your offer letter says ₹8 lakh per year (₹8,00,000 CTC), this is what lands in your bank account each month under the standard assumptions below — in both tax regimes, so you can pick the better one on your employer's payroll portal.

Estimated monthly in-hand

₹59,176 per month

under the new tax regime — ₹7,10,108 a year after PF, professional tax and income tax

New tax regime Better for you
₹59,176 / month
Income tax for the year: ₹0
Old tax regime
₹57,250 / month
Income tax for the year: ₹23,110

Under these assumptions the new regime is better by ₹1,926 per month (₹23,110 per year). Income tax under the new regime is ₹0 at this CTC — the Section 87A rebate wipes out the tax of ₹13,680 (before cess) because taxable income of ₹6,73,608 is within the ₹12,00,000 rebate limit.

Assumptions used for this page

Why other websites show a different number for ₹8 LPA

For the same CTC, calculators disagree because they silently choose different basic percentages, PF bases (capped vs full basic) and states. A site assuming basic at 50% of CTC with PF on full basic will show a lower monthly figure than this page; a site ignoring gratuity inside CTC will show a higher one. None of them is "wrong" — they are answering different questions. We publish our assumptions above so you can see exactly which question this page answers.
