About
About this calculator
This site answers one question honestly: your offer letter says a big annual CTC — how much of it actually reaches your bank account every month?
What this site is
The In-Hand Salary Calculator works out monthly take-home pay in India for FY 2026-27. Enter an annual CTC and it shows your in-hand salary under both the old and the new tax regime, with PF, gratuity and state professional tax broken out step by step. Alongside the main calculator there are dedicated tools for income tax, HRA, gratuity, EPF and salary hikes, ready-worked in-hand pages for common CTC levels, and a professional-tax page for each major state.
Most salary calculators hide their assumptions, which is why different websites give different answers for the same CTC. This one publishes everything: the formulas, the slabs, and every assumption are on the methodology page, so if our number differs from another site's, you can see exactly why.
Who runs it
This is an independent, one-person project — not a company, a payroll firm or a tax practice. It exists because the person behind it wanted a salary calculator whose workings could be checked, and could not find one. Questions, corrections and suggestions are welcome at quietweb@atomicmail.io. If you spot a rate that has changed, a note there is the fastest way to get it fixed.
How the figures are produced
Every figure on this site is calculated in your browser from published formulas — nothing is looked up from a hidden database and nothing is estimated by hand. The tax slabs, standard deductions and Section 87A rebate follow the Income Tax Department's published rules for FY 2026-27; the EPF wage ceiling follows the Gazette notification that raised it; and each state's professional-tax schedule is taken from that state's own published schedule. The full methodology, including what the model deliberately does not do, is on the methodology page. Rules are re-checked when they change.
What this site is not
This website provides estimates for general information only. It is not tax advice, financial advice, or a substitute for your employer's payroll calculation or a chartered accountant. Actual in-hand salary varies with your salary structure, declarations, investment proofs, rent, joining date and employer policies. Always confirm important decisions against the Income Tax Department's official publications or your payslip.
